Not because we were hungry, the idea of a dark board over the existing cabinets to change the look is genius. Can't imagine it being as much as new cabinets.

Inspiration for a new fixed element. A possible seat? We'll see, it has the strength and function to be a great bench with storage. What condo doesn't need that?

A new reno project for the Downtown area

Just got a new project to start renovating an urban condo, in the core of the downtown. How to modernize it? How to bring it all together? Well here's our first steps stay tuned for the rest of the journey. This is what we are deciding to go with. Most of the ideas will be cut out for the final product. This is just to get the creative juices going

Found a great article that outlines just a few handy tips on what to renovate to bring some luxury and value to you home.
Here is the short list on what returns you should expect when you sell, be aware that most importantly renovate according to the value of the home in the neighbour and be tasteful.

TILE TIPS, Tiling Floors Just Tile setting... no grout

This is a small project for some tiling at an address. The grouting was to be done by the customer. The project took about 3 days to set the tiles.
Tips:
- When setting tiles use tile spacers to keep spaces consistent
- For Floors Start your tiling off by using a chalk line. Measure slightly smaller (1/8" inch) then a full tile size ***remember to add the size of the grout lines (tile spaces), and snap line. Do it for both the width and the length. This will help with adjusting for walls that aren't straight. Then tile the rest of the tiles based off the chalk line to give you straight rows relative to the room.
If you dont like that way you can do it by segmenting the room in to sections, make like a checker board pattern. Then start from the middle. This really only works with symmetrical areas.
- Cutting Circles 2 words ANGLE GRINDER, its pretty self explanatory can't really explain it much more then that.

Best tip:
-Get that accomplished feeling the first day. AVOID DOING THE PARTIAL TILES. Try not to get hung up on doing the tiles on the ends or tiles that need some kind of cutting. That will slow you way down and just make the whole thing tiring and more boring for you.

- KNEE PADS use them save your knees you'll thank me when you don't use them and cant get up the next day.

Check out the pictures it was about 300+sqft of tiling these are 16 x 16 tiles, big and heavy, thick too.

Basement Renovation some Tips and IDEAS

Just a few pictures of the process of taking this unfinished basement to a complete one.
Always love looking at the process and seeing the transformation. ENJOY.

Coming down the stairs to the main area. You can't see it but all the corners are rounded. The walls are hand painted for that two tone effect.

Coming down the stairs, look right its the spare room. In front the bathroom.

Bathroom (left to right): Shower is on the left, sink in the middle, and toiler on the right. Did a two tone tiling, and laid tiles at a 90º angle.

The back wall of the main sitting area, tried an accent wall. Turned out alright.

***Creative idea: Made a storage area underneath the landing area added LED lights to illuminate everything under there. Sliding doors cover it all.***

In wall cabinet for extra Shoe storage

Need inspiration for what to do to create more storage? Why not get creative and look behind your existing walls. Yes I know you don't x-ray vision and neither do we, but we do know about construction. Let us find all those hidden storage spaces to store your stuff.

An art niche/display area on the top and below extra space made to store your stuff. ENJOY


First Break open to find out whats inside. Yup that white line is a Live electrical wire. Safety first that's why you call us in.


Moved the wire and the plug to the bottom right corner, there was 2 studs in the middle cut those out. Voila the beginning of more storage.

Built this custom shelf to fit the space.
(Tip: Found out it would be cheaper to buy something bigger then cut it down to the right size.)


The Final product with doors made out of a simple MDF board and cut to size. Trim on the sides to blend everything in.

Doors swing open thanks to Blum 170º hinges and 5 shelves.


Thanks to the 170º hinges the pull out shelves make the shoes easier to access.
